Ms. Ammara Farooq Malik
ISW Think Tank Founding Director
Ammara Farooq Malik founded the community platform ‘SEPLAA’ (Seeds of Education, Policy & Legal Awareness Association) in 2004. Since then she has Founded the SEPLAA Foundation (2008), Impact Seplaa World in 2010 and is also the Founder & CEO of the Seplaa Enterprises, a registered business.

 

She is the Managing Partner of ISW Consultants dealing in development, law and policy. She has also been a Partner in the Wyne Malik Law Consultants from 2013-2016, Partner at Jus & Rem Attorneys & Corporate Counsellors (2013),  a Child Rights & Juvenile Justice Law Reform & Policy Consultant at UNICEF from May 2013 to March 2014 and remained a Senior Law Associate at Bhandari, Naqvi & Riaz (BNR Law) July- November 2008.

She has been the Law & Policy Program Development Coordinator at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2008 and also set up the Metropolitan University of Law & Social Sciences  in 2004 where she was a Partner and Academics Director. She taught LL.B to the University of London’s External Program to university students for 8 years in Pakistan and also taught MPhil students at the University of the Punjab.

She is presently the Council Head of the International SEW-EGAP (France, USA, UK, Australia, Malaysia, UAE.) and remained an Executive Member, Head of Civil Society Group, Pak US Alumni Network under US State Department, 2015-2016 and 2016-2019. She was also the Election Commissioner for Lahore of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) for IT & ITES Elections, 2013-2014 and Co-Convener of the Standing Committees on TQM and Professional Development at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

Ms. Malik is presently a doctoral candidate in action-based leadership, social entrepreneurship, and policy at the Business School Netherlands, building on over 19 years of professional experience as a corporate lawyer, law professor, freelance journalist, entrepreneur, social entrepreneur, educationalist and philanthropist.  She has a B.A. with distinction in Economics from Kinnaird College, LL.B. (with distinctions) and MA in Political Science from the Punjab University, Pakistan and an LL.M. from the University of London, UK. She is a LUMS SEDC Alumna (2010), a US International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Alumna (2014) and an Executive Development Institute of National School of Public Policy Pakistan Alumna (2015).

She is an award-winning international speaker and expert, having presented during various forums and conferences in New York, Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Duhok (Iraq), Colombo and Maldives on peacebuilding, social enterprise development and gap analysis of trade promotion policies, including environment related national and international policies. She is a published researcher and opinion writer with several articles published in The News, Dawn and Express Tribune. Presently she is working on two book projects on women empowerment and social enterprise development in Pakistan.

Ms. Zahra Wyne

ISW Think Tank Director

Sewegap Women Hub & Council, Co-Founder & General Secretary.

Zahra Wyne is part of the management of ISW Think Tank and is also a founding member of the SEPLAA Foundation.  She Graduated from Government College of Home Economics, Lahore and gained her professional degree in software engineering at APTECH Institute, Lahore. She has attended courses at LUMS, ICx Seplaa for social enterprise development including sustainable development of enterprises and also took part in an Executive Leadership Course at the National School of Public Policy. In 2015 she was selected for the Australia Awards for a short course in ‘Incubation Management’.

Zahra has over fifteeen years of experience in education, management, IT and community development. She has been the Project Manager for the Umeed Jawan(USAID) funded project ‘Promoting social entrepreneurship for peacebuilding through IT & Youth Mobilization in South Punjab.’ In 2015, she co founded the SEW-EGAP Women Empowerment Council. In 2016, she launched her project ‘Smiling through Disability’ which she conducts with special children from Ameen Maktab and Rising Sun School for Special Children.

Zahra is a resilient and determined individual who is passionate about community development, women development and child rights.
